I am a part-time, passionate photographer who has been hooked on photography for about 10 years. I'm hoping to ease into retirement within the next few years so that I can pursue my "true calling" full time.
My other passion is travel, and I have been fortunate to take an annual road trip to the American Southwest for the last four years. It has been an inspiration.
My photographic interests seem to be all over the place (I'm always taking photos in my mind), but I do seek out the natural beauty of landscapes, details of colour, line and form, and North American native culture.
I use a Nikon F70, with a 28-70mm zoom, a Tamron 70 - 300mm zoom and a Tamron 90 mm macro. I usually use a haze or skylight filter on my lenses, and switch to a polarizer when necessary, or occasionally a warming filter. I expect to make the leap to a comparable digital camera at some point.
Oh yes, in my spare time (!) I do picture framing. What started out as just a way to frame my own work just kept growing. But I do enjoy it too - it is another creative process.
