I am an amateur photographer currently based in Pueblo, Colorado. I work professionally as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
I have been an avid artist for over 25 years, starting as a painter on Long Island, New York, where I had acrylic art exhibits in several North coast and East End galleries. I studied fine arts and painting at SUNY Stony Brook with reknowned print master Dan Welden. Upon moving to the West Coast several years ago, I became seriously interested in landscape photography, combining this passion with my love of the outdoors, particularly hiking and climbing.
I climbed numerous Cascade peaks in Washington and found that I had a knack for getting good images of the mountains. Most of my recent photography has been from the Northern California region, Oregon Coast, and lately Colorado. I have had photographs win in various contests including the Banff International Mountain Photography Competition (associated with the Banff film festival, which goes on an annual world-wide tour), and the Colorado State Fair. I have sold prints to various individual and corporate clients as well as municipalities in California and Colorado. In 2005 I published a book of landscape photography as a photo essay on conservation entitled "Bigfoot Slept Here", which received favorable reviews from local press. I have just finished putting out my third cd of instrumental guitar music, which I will be selling online. Of course, I used my photography as the basis for the cd design and posters to promote the music!
I am currently working on a book of the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.
Hope you enjoy my work!
