My name is Terry Olsen. I live with my wife, Cheryl, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This is in the Arkansas River valley in western Arkansas right on the Arkansas-Oklahoma border. I have been a passionate amateur photographer since the first time I used an SLR in 1990. I quickly discovered my interest was in nature photography - I am definitely not a people photographer. Flowers, trees, clouds, landscapes, weather, water, macro - I love it all (even though I'm particularly into wildlife photography). I enjoy seeing these kinds of images by other photographers and I am constantly searching the internet for them and I also enjoy getting out and finding and photographing these images for myself.
I am new to digital photography having bought my first digital camera, a Nikon D80, in March 2007. I shoot in RAW and use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Elements for my processing and I plan to purchase Photoshop CS3 in a few months. I have a great deal to learn but, already, I am very pleased with the control that digital offers. Now I can finally have an image that conveys what I saw and felt when it was captured. All the images in my gallery have been taken since March 2007.
I have a passion for outdoor photography that far exceeds anything else that I have found in my life, so far. I consider my pursuit of photographic excellence to be a life-long quest; a constant process of study and experience.
Thanks for looking at my photos - I hope you enjoy them.
