Botanical-Foliage

Keywords: caterpillar, insects

I found this monarch butterfly caterpillar (Danaus plexippus)at a park close to my house. She was totally oblivious to my presence while she happily ate the weed she was resting on. Then she suddenly turned around, crawled towards the stem of the weed, and fell asleep. Notice how her antenna are slightly bent. I quietly left her and when I returned about 20 minutes later she was still there sleeping.
