Good old Fifi

This portrait of Fifi says it all. This intelligent, wise and very good mother has seen and experienced a lot during her life. She has given the most birth ever recorded for any wild chimpanzee, and some of her sons became the alfa male of her community in Gombe Stream National Park in western Tanzania. She disappeared a few years ago and is assumed to be dead. But the memories and images of her remain.
