Guarding Nest

Bushtit - Psaltriparus minimus

While out with =exorp and *Aurora-Marille, we found this Bushtit nest. It's made mostly of lichen, moss and spiderwebs, shaped much like a sock, with the whole off to the side, near the top. We could tell there were chicks deep inside, both by the parental activity and the occational nest shake. Note how different the male's eye is to the female's, which is all black.

Enjoy!
