Slice of Paradise

Before leaving for Norway, I compiled a list of destinations I wanted to go to based on the photographs of one of my favorite photographers. Hjelle was one of them. On the way there, I came across a sign that that said Hjelle, except it was nowhere near the one I had marked on my map. I turned off anyways to see what was there, and found this. It was early in the day when I got there but I had enough food and water to last the day, so I parked the car and spent the day at this spot waiting for the good afternoon light. I spent the day reading, writing, listening to music, and simply soaking in the grand scene in front of me. Hours later, as the sun began to set, the colors in the sky curiously began to fade without any enthusiasm. I was just starting loose all hope when a small burst of color and light appeared within an interesting formation in the clouds. I snapped more than 30 photos in under 30 seconds, and just like that, it went dark.
