Flowering Plants

I arrived at Capitol Reef National Park at the peak of a good cactus flowering season in 2007. This Desert Valley Fishhook Cactus was one of several blooming near the Capitol Gorge area of the park; its large blossoms fade within a few days, but this plant has an abundance of buds to keep the blooming season going a bit longer.
