The Friendly Beaches is one of the great dawn locations, spectacular sunrises with warm light on the sand dunes and beach seem to be a daily routine. The mood is very different at sundown. The Tasmanian twilight is special, often pastel hues linger for long periods after the sun has set as on this occasion. This one had to be timed to perfection, as the wave swept around past me, the end of the exposure coinciding with the tripod sinking further into the sand.
