Stormy Skies of Inverness

Well, as you will discover as I post more images, this is my favorite place - Inverness Beach on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. The landscape, weather, and lighting conditions are always changing. This image was taken a little before sunset which accounts for the color in the sky. The sun is setting a little to the left of the edge of the frame. A storm is moving in and there is a bone chilling wind.

This is a single image taken with my Canon 40D and a Canon EF 16mm - 35mm f/2.8L lens. Shutter speed 0.8 sec f/16 ISO 200. I used a Singh-Ray +2 Stop Reverse ND gradient filter and a Singh-Ray color enhancing, warming polarizer. Ajustment of white balance and exposure in Lightroom. Light and contrast tweaks in PSE7.
