Mount "Licancabur" is a volcano named after one of the original native people that lived in this part of the high planes of Northern Chile. The mountain stands omnipresent for the nearby town of San Pedro de Atacama, a very popular tourist destination, and is surrounded by several geological and archaelogical interest points.
