A porcupine clings to a cottonwood branch on a chilly spring morning. I noticed a black ball in a tree from a distance - the porcupine tolerated a close approach and was in a good location for a clean photograph. Rocky Flats designated National Wildlife Refuge, Colorado
* Rocky Flats was a plutonium trigger manufacturing site for decades and has been cleaned up for conversion to a NWR. This site was once one of the dirtiest locations on the planet.
