I found this baby frog in the end stages of a tadpole and beginning phases of a full frog (with the tale of the tadpole still visible) on a puddle of a large leaf overhanging a small pond in the Amazonian rain forest of Peru near my research station. It struck me because it looks a little bit like an alien. March 2008
