Bohemian Waxwing

Its coming to that time of year again when the waxwings come over the north sea and grace us with their presence.

This a picture I took last January at Mussleburgh near Edinburgh. The waxwings where landing in the tree and then were chases by a very aggressive song thrush. I was looking to catch the beauty of the wing patterns as the bird takes off. The light was excellent, a cold frosty day in late afternoon.
