A Salmon gets his first look at the river's rocky bank, courtesy of a Black Bear that has just plucked him from the river for lunch in Wrangell St. Elias National Forest. The Salmon run had just begun the day before and the Bears were just beginning to come in for the fresh meals. The Black Bears were having more luck than the juvenile Brown Bear that just couldn't seem to come up with a Salmon on this gloomy July day in 2008 near Wrangell Island, Alaska.f/4.5, 1/500, 200mm, ISO 800
