Has anyone had any experience of printing low run (one or two copies) "coffee table books" within the UK and who would be willing to share their experiences? (Wildlife/Wedding etc etc!)

Hi Nick

photobox.co.uk do a basic photobook for £20. I haven't tried this although I have used Photobox in the past and have generally been pleased with the quality and value for money. The calendars are good! Might be worth trying out, lots of options and info on their website.

Another option is the print your own book with something like the Opus Fine Art album system. Warehouse Express (and others) sell this system.

cheers

Hi Sean,

Thanks for the suggestions

I took a look at the Photobox offering at Focus earlier this year - unfortunately, while the print quality was decent enough, the product itself looked cheap due to the outer covers :frown:.

I'll take a look at the Opus system though.

I've had a few done by Apple to use as showcase things for my karting shots. £17+vat for a 21 page 8 x 11 1/2 book isn't bad. Printing quality is superb, the only let down was the front cover....a print stuck on (lifting at the edges) to the hard cover looks bad.

I'll take on down to the SNPF to show you if you like.

Nick

I have used various companies for wedding books.

Whilst these products are tailored for weddings, there is no reason at all why they couldn't be used for other purposes.

The ones I recommend are GraphiStudio (www.graphicstudio.com) and Bellissimo by Loxleys (www.loxleycolour.com).

The latter is particularly good as you donwload the free software and can compose your book online

Good luck

Barrie :)
