Beaver Ponds - RMNP

Yesterday morning I went out to Beaver Ponds on the west side of RMNP. There were some nice clouds and some interesting opportunities. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this image or suggestions for improvement. Thanks!

Its not upto your usual par, IMO.

I love the clouds and the reflection. The light is good, but I would saturate the colors more (I loved velvia). I think the image is tilted clockwise. Overall a very pleasant photo. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the comments. The image actually isn't tilted. I used a bubble level to take this shot. I think it is just the shoreline that is giving this impression. I'll consider increasing the saturation. Jody, any suggestions that might help me improve this next time?

Hi Erik. I overlaid a grid in PS and found that the photo is tilted. Try rotating 0.6 degrees ccw and you'll see. Not a big deal, but just something to nitpick on.

Momo, Grids don't mean a thing, shorelines often can give the feeling of a tilted look. Look at the trees in the shot do they look tilted? Erik also mentions he is using a bubble level.

I agree, lovely base shot with tons of potential, though this version is a bit flat. I hope you don't mind, but I worked it up in PS... Sat +20, slight color shift into the blue range on midtones and highlights, shifted into green on shadows, very slight curve, some burning on the clouds and a brighter part of the mountain, and a slight usm. I stashed it in my DPC worskshop folder so that it can't be seen unless directly linked to like so:

The clouds are really cool, the reflection is really cool, and the light on the mountain is really cool, but the center of the photo, where I tend to focus first, doesn't have much interest and it divides the image pretty strongly with nothing leading the eye anywhere else.
