Rick and I went into the Mt Jefferson area and camped out overnight. We didn't think we would make the campsite in time for sunset, but I thought it would be useful to be there for scouting purposes at least. As it turned out, we hauled ourselves up there in less time than we anticipated and set up camp and took some pics before dark.
Here's one from that night I liked. The moon made a small half circle path around and behind the mountain top and peeked out the other side. I like this one the best of the series b/c of the last gleaming of the sun.
Kevin,
Cool shot. It looks like you guys had lots of time left to shoot. BTW, it's kind of strange that I haven't heard from my brother since he left.

Real nice, Kevin.
How long was this exposure? The mountain is real sharp but the moon is a bit blurred. It's quite amazing how far the moon moves in five seconds actually. Maybe on shot for the mountain and one for the moon?
The moon does seem a tad soft. I probably would have made a seperate exposure for the moon, plus made it just a tad larger, but not much. Other than that...cool shot, I think it works well. That moon also made it's way into that cup on the right. It was cool...

Mark, this was for 1/2 second at f/11 at 200 mm. It looks pretty sharp at home???
