A Tender Moment.
Canon 20D, Canon 100-400mm L I.S., 1/250 sec @ f5.6, -1/3 exp.comp.
Iso 400, Gitzo 1548/B1.
Raw, Neatimage,

Hi,

A 5am start yesterday morning to catch the sweet light, frustratingly resulted in an hour and a half sat in the car eating cheese rolls and drinking tea whilst praying the rain and heavy drizzle would subside .Wish I had a weather-proofed 1 series body at times like these,I thought to myself.
Anyway, it did eventually clear up,thankfully  and I began photographing a small group of Sika.

I spent quite a lot of time with this particular hind and her calf and managed to get quite a few shots of them amongst the heather,as well as some grooming behaviour such as this one.

All comments always welcome and appreciated.

A tender moment indeed - and a really nice shot Justin. Well worth the wait and the cup of tea .

Hi Justin,

Certainly worth the wait and effort. I love the comp and the heather really adds to this. Superbly processed and presented. Good skills.

Hi Justin,

This really is fantastic. Great moment to have recorded, and the image is so well processed that they jump out of the screen.

Outstanding work as normal Justin :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

Hello Justin
You really have recorded that tender moment magnificently, and the heather "necklace" is the icing on the cake.
Best wishes

Hi Justin

I agree with the above comments, a well caught moment with super detail and eye contact.

My only minor nit is I would prefer a bit more space to the right of the shot, it just looks slightly tight for my taste.

:toast:

cheers
