You'll see Guy Tal's and my photos on this a-hole's site.

Check if he's stolen any of your work. If so, send a complaint to help@deviantart.com and tell them to shut him down.

- Dan.

If you want a good laugh, check out the associated discussions too. Some people truly have no shame.

Some of the thumbnails no longer not point to a valid image (i.e. the image has been removed). Thanks for the warning.

What a jerk!! I can't believe someone would be so low as to want compliments and credit for something they didn't even create. My work's not the greatest, but it's MINE! Glad you caught him !!

gads... I can't be here to much right now but do come in & peek a little... but this kind of news I is just way sad... sorry that another feels the need to take credit for someone elses work...
all the ones I clicked on are no longer viewable in full screen... so hope that means they are on the problem...
I had this happen before... someone emails me & says go look at this site I do believe they have the same images as some you have... gadddddddddds... needless to say the site no longer is there... but then it happen a second time... gadddddddddddds people... LOL
but tis ok... there is no way to stop stupid people... LOL
but is good to know when others see this they do care...
& I guess in some way you have to feel kind of good... they at least think your work is really good stuff... LOL oops sorry... not funny...

Well that is pretty darn brazen!!! How can someone be so stupid and think they won't eventually get caught? Aren't they embarrased and ashamed?
Posted by Danny Burk on August 10, 2006 at 5:59 PM
Thanks for catching this. This character has a LOT of stuff belonging to Dan, Guy, myself and others. The worst thing is attempting to take credit for all of it!

Jim, is he an NPN member? If so, I'd think this would be just cause for pulling his membership from NPN. I've already notified Deviant Art that my stuff had best be removed pronto if they don't want to be involved in a copyright violation suit.

There are two photographers there whose work I immediately recognized. I have already sent them an e-mail. Several other photos looked familar, but I don't know who shot them. It may be Guy's or Dan's work.

And Mary, unfortunately, I doubt they are embarressed or ashamed. If they are willing to do this, personal integrity is a non-issue.

In the business I work in (insurance claims) I have found that people generally are not embarassed or ashamed any more...they will say anything, claim anything (no matter how ridiculous), change their stories, and just don't seem to care. Very unfortunate. Hopefully someone can crack down on this guy and teach him a lesson.

What a dirt bag...

Anyone find his full name?

Closest thing I can find is Danni E.

It does look like the middle top row image is part of one of Michael Gordon's images.

http://www.mgordonphotography.com/gallery/gallery_disciples.htm. The trees are for certain the same. I'd recognize that image any where ,beings how it is high up on my favorite list of MG's work.

No shame is correct.

Robert, that's actually one of mine. Michael and I were there together.

Sorry, Guy I don't recall that image of yours, but I'm going to your site to look at it. I'd be in heaven if I walked up on that scene it's so painterly.

You can see it here. This place is not too far from my house, though requires a pretty steep hike to get to. It was actually Michael who realized the potential from a distance and we both headed there. It was a fun day - we were dodging lightning the whole afternoon (this meadow is at about 10,000ft) and made several unsuccesful attempts to photograph this scene as small thunderstorms kept rolling through forcing us to run to a nearby conifer grove to take shelter before trying again.

By the way, I personally consider Michael's version the better of the two.

Just curious. How do you find this stuff? I have posted very few images on the web over the years, but I wouldn't have a clue if somebody took one of them.

That's as blatant as anything I've seen. Look at the most popular list, half the images there are Baumbach's.

"nice work, but low res. you should post larger images, for details."

The company is in dire need of quality control if they're selling anything off stolen low rez images.

Fortunately for me, none of my photos are good enough to steal! I see these kinds of people as very pathetic. Why don't they spend the same effort making their own shots better, or even pick something else to do, like music or whatever? Are their lives so empty that impressing total strangers on the internet with something they didn't really create gives them a sense of "accomplishment?" Crying out loud.

Truly unbelievable!! I don't want to e-mail them because of cookies and other info they may get. Do you think it would pay to conact all the "partners" they so proudly list?

Looks like the user was terminated and banned. The thumbnails are all that's left.
Exciting as it was, I suspect there's at least a dozen cases we don't know about for every one we do. There will always be people like this and we should all be vigilant about exposing them for what they are. This is how Dan and I learned about it - an NPN member noticed these violations and notified us. I am very grateful to him for looking out for us.

I'm glad he was spotted. And this just goes to prove what a great site NPN is too. I've looked at those "other" sites, but have never felt good about putting my images there.
