Ok here it is, a lighter version of Lake McDonald in Glacier. I took this the same night as the first one, although you may notice it is a different log here. What are your thoughts, is this version better?

Thanks Brian

Yes, I like this one. But I sure would like the log to extend out and draw your eye in instead, but only because I've seen the other log probably. lol Both are really good shots, Brian!

I like this one a lot; the lake has good depth - clouds, sky reflections, and rocky lake floor. I could wish that the log wasn't quite so chopped, but I'd gladly welcome this to my own collection were it mine.

Very nice! I just got back from there and the lake would not glass out for me like that the three days I was in the park. We drove 3806.5 miles to Jasper National Park in Canada and back. Truely an awsome site if you have never been. I will post some shots soone.

Well done

Exactly my delima Denise, I like the other log better! Oh well!

Mike, I can't wait to see your images, we only made it to Glacier and back. With a quick stop in the Tetons of course.

Thanks
Brian

Yep - the lighting/exposure in this one is better. The longer log in the other one made for a more interesting foreground element, but that's photography for you I guess. I wouldn't fret over it myself - such a gorgeous scene either way. Nice shooting!

When I was there there was an incredible red sunset and my camera was in the hotel miles aways, dang. Beautiful location though with lots of potential. The lake is beautifully still in your shot, it was windy when I was there.
