Like the Bandon area as well. Hope to see more. This is a different look at this lighthouse. Well seen Ned.

Ned, I'm all about cropping to enhance the mood of the photo. IMHO, right now, you have too much sky. What about cropping out a third of the sky to bring the far shoreline more into the center of the photo? To me, that would create the graphic foreground, with the way cool rocks and old pilings, and the far shoreline with the lighthouse.
With as much sky as you have, my eye gets lost looking for something to look at. With the crop, my eye is focused and keeps moving from one line to the other.

To me, with the crop, you've made art out of a standard scene. Without the crop, you've done a real good job photographing a standard scene, but it's still a standard scene.

All in IMHO, of course.

Eh?

I think you have done an amazing capturing a very calm scene. As with 99.9% of Mark's post I am going to have disagree with him. I think that with your current composition you have put the lighthouse at eye level and it keeps the viewer's eyes bouncing back and forth between the light house and the foreground shoreline.

Great shot Ned!

Pretty cool. I might job a little off the top as well to get three even blue streaks.
