Not sure that many people actually 'observed' the closure, but... the Park County Republican and Fairplay Flume has an article that states that Alma is leasing the trails and assuming the liability in order to keep the trails and peaks open to the public.
Interestingly, the town's new insurance company was so happy to have the trails reopened, that they gave Alma a discount, and now Alma is paying less in premiums than before. Proof that there is such a thing as karma!

I still have a hard time with the whole liability issue anyways, since CO passed, and Owens signed, a law protecting land owners' liability from recreationists accessing their land. It was the DeCaLiBro trio (as well as Wilson Peak) access that initiated the legislation in the first place. Regardless, this is good news. I wish the Silver Prick down by Wilson would open his peak to free access (he's now charging $100 a pop).
