Hi everyone,
I have been hanging around the forum for a while and finally decided to part with 20 quid to join. My first post is of a Silver Spotted Skipper butterfly taken in Oxfordshire. I used a Nikon D2X with a sigma 150mm macro lens. It was taken at 1/750th sec. at F6.3. I have a website at www.c-m-l.com. All comments welcome.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forum
You will be pleased you have joined the help and advice on here is top class.
I have never seen one of these so thanks for posting the image, I do like the composition and colours but feel the whole image could be a couple of shades lighter.
That said though cracking start.
Regards
Rob

Hi Chris
Nice shot though you could have stopped down a bit more for greater DOF on the wingtips and still had a good shutter speed. Having said that more DOF would have increased the background distractions.

A fine first post, with the warm, golden colours making for a very attractive image.
Look forward to more.

A decent first post although I feel it could be a bit sharper. Maybe some additional USM would help.
I have not seen a Silver Spotted Skipper myself.
cheers
