Speckled Wood
Just spent an hour trawling through the hundred of images waiting to be sorted for web presentation in my scans folder and found this, it was taken a number of years ago

EOS 1n, 300mm f/4L (non IS) (cracking lens wish I still had it)

Hi Larry

I like the composition and panoramic crop on this shot. I am not keen on the lighting though, the highlights on the leaves are a bit distracting.

I agree about the Canon 300F4 non-IS. I bought a second hand version 18 months ago from Mifsuds and I will keep it until it falls apart. Coincidentally Mifsuds have one for sale at the moment for £499, maybe you could do a deal with that Gitzo tripod

cheers

Sean

Hi Larry,

I like this image. I like the way you have captured it differently than the normal angle, thus giving the Butterfly and Bramble leaf some co-ordination.

well Done

Hi Larry,

I like the composition because it makes the image stand out. However in my opinion the highlight on the leaf is a wee bit distracting.

Kind regards, Chris

Hi Larry,

Love the ultra low birds eye view and including the whole of the leaf was a good decision.
Looks like you had some quite extreme contrast to deal with here, not sure if the light on the leaf could be toned down a little, worth a try maybe.
