Here's one from the Tipsoo Lake trip.

After the Mt. Jefferson hike, I over-prepared for the 1&1/2 mile hike from our campsite. I must not have heard that the lake is literally feet the parking lot 1&1/2 miles from the campsite  In any case, it was really fun to see a new area and to check out a new mountain. Thanks Rick!

Here's a stream shot that I like. The curving branch and those wildflowers really spoke to me, and I hope they brighten your day, too.

Let me know what you think.

The flowers and stream are good, but the log kinda detracts IMHO. I like how you composed the diagonals though.

Have to agree with Rick about the dead wood in the stream. Maybe a little more contrast in the FG. :wavey:

Kevin,
The log does break the stream up. But i think the small twigs are more of a distraction. To be perfectly honest, I've seen alot better from you.

Thanks all! Really, I'm trying something different each time. Otherwise I would be bored doing the same thing over and over. That's what jobs are for;) TBO, I didn't expect this many thumbs down on this. I kinda like it. And I guess my recent photographs could be categorized two ways: 1) my skills have been trending down lately or 2) everyone is critiquing my work more precisely than before. IOW, instead of a "that looks nice" I'm hearing what people really think.

And that's good, b/c I don't post these just to feel good (even though it is a lot of fun), I want to know how I can talk my wife into a $3000 camera being a worthwhile investment:P

So now begs the question, what you like to see done differently with this picture that would make you like it better. I'm guessing the log and twigs are not a favorite, but what about the comp, lighting, subject, etc???
