Hi All
Not much photography this weekend so here is another from my session on Pewsey Down last week. Again taken very late in the day with the sun quite low on the horizon, in fact I was struggling to keep my head and camera from throwing shadows over the butterfly as the sun was directly behind me.
Canon 20D, 180mm f3.5 L, ISO 200, f7.1, 1/200th, tripod.
Again it was quite breezy so it was a case of waiting patiently for a lull in the wind before taking the shot.
Hoping to try for some more bug shots this week but the weather forecast is not too promising.
Good one Sean, I would perhaps prefer a touch more room, and perhaps a vertical comp with the bf slightly higher in the frame, but for web presentation this comp and crop is fine.... Like it.

A little stunner, love the light and BG. I also would have preferred a touch more room!
Hello Sean
Another fine image, but I too would have preferred more room.
Best wishes
Phil

Hi Everyone
Thanks for the comments, yes I agree, this post is probably a bit tight composition wise. Luckily I had time for several variations of this shot so I do have some shots from slightly further back and also in portrait orientation. Sometimes I like to get in close with macro subjects and really make the subject dominant to show off the lovely colour and detail.
Robam, I have PM'ed you, let me know if you don't receive it.

No nits from me at all.
A very nice image. Razor sharp and some soft light to top it off. Nice one!

Excellent light and exposure with a pleasing BG, but I too would like a touch more room.
