I'll post something on ESS later tonight with more backstory, but for now here's a shot from the north ridge of Hermit Peak a little bit above the pass.

Nice call to leave last night at 9:00 to get this. Maybe you also should have placed a few on-line bets or bought a lottery ticket?

What is interesting is that you can see the sunny (and probably hot) day behind the fog. Very cool.

I'm with Jody on this one....you steal all the best clouds. Really like the colors and patterns on the rock too. Your 4 wheel drive must be a glutton for punishment....I've been up this pass and it's pretty rough. You've been up here several times!
Sweet - I like the symmetry of the two halves, and of course your trademark clouds. The detail and colors in the foreground perfectly compliment the mysterious scene beyond.

Okay, Todd. That's it. I'm calling in the FBI to investigate just what kind of deal you have with the Cloud Union! They give all the best clouds to you... I love the light, wispy clouds that don't really block the scenery behind them but just add atmosphere.

Todd - this is nice. For some reason I'm thinking this would make a good B&W.
This has been a great summer for clouds in RMNP and it looks like the rest of Colorado as well.

I stood in the exact spot a few weeks ago, so I'm pretty impressed with this. Wonderful take on this viewpoint.
