Baby Moorhen in a Solar powered nest
Canon 20D, 100-400, iso 400, f9, 1/800
I thought it was about time I came out of the woodwork after looking at all your fantastic images for quite a while. I mainly take images of quite common birds and waterfowl normally just for my own pleasure :)
I also take quite a few plain shots of the river wildlife near me just as a record and this is one of them, but I just like the way Moorhens will incorporate almost anything into their nests
Looking forward to participating and learn from some constructive criticism which seems very friendly and helpful on this forum :)

Hi Terry,
Welcome to the forum
An interesting image Terry, but isn't it sad to think that man has dropped this litter for it to be used in the first place
Anyway a nice opening shot that documents this species habits.
Regards
Rob

Welcome aboard.
This is a classic environmental shot that shows the impact man has on our wildlife.
Hello Terry
It's always good to see "lurkers" posting, you're very welcome.
Rob has described the image perfectly, I like it telling a story too.
If you are struggling with grammar and spelling on your site, try putting it in "word" first, then copy and paste after you have spell checked.
Best wishes
Phil
Excellent image; good exposure and framing. A triangular configuration of subject elements usually makes for a good composition and this certainly works very well in this instance. The only thing I would do if I was going to make a print of this, is to clone out the little bit of vegetation intruding into the top right side of the frame. Nice work.

I agree with you all about the litter and man, in fact I often think the world would be a much better place without man
