Sandy,
Very beautiful scene! You might think to go back on a nice cloudy day. The deep shadows would open up a bit then. Is this on the way up to Timberline Lodge?

The bottom feels too cropped and the top a bit too dark. More flowers/space below and this would work quite well.
Ther ARE no more flowers! This is that waterfall right at the edge of the road on the way up to Timberline Lodge from hwy 26! I was back as far as i could be and have none of the road in the picture! "Ideal" rarely exists, does it? Sandy

How's that 18-200 treating you? I've been thinking about that lens for long backpacking trips. Anyway, you probably could have easily grabbed the flowers with a 10-20 or a 12-24. that would have actually been more "ideal". Ideal, does rarely exist as you speak of...but I think this shot could have been improved slightly upon. Although not terribly worried about the chopped flowers, I am wishing for more shadow detail in the URC and some more overall sharpness.

Nice one, Sandy - wondered if Timberline had a meaning in the title..
