Along the shoreline of Sparks Lake I watched the sunset last night after a backpacking/climbing trip. These are not clouds in the sky, but actually smoke from the Black Crater fire that exploded out of control again yesterday 30 miles to the North.

That's amazing and I really like this composition with the rocks. That sky looks so much like clouds - must be a big fire at this point....

This is simply a beautiful image. I can't explain why I keep going back to look, but it is just so crisp with great colors. Even here on my laptop screen. Wow.
Thank you for sharing, though it does make me feel bad that I haven't been out shooting anything in what seems like forever.
Best regards,
-Brett

Boy that fire got big !! I was on the Jack and there was some haze in the morning, but nothing likr this. I also stoped on the Sparks lake, but as my luck has it no clouds what so ever
anyway this beautiful image Marc. I eally love those flowers in the water, they give the middle ground extra punch.

When were you at Jack? Wednesday night or Thursday morning? It looked like there was GREAT light Wednesday night, but I was stuck 10 miles into the Sisters.

Last Wednesday/Thursday, but the morning haze from fire blocked the very first rays of light. After that I went north to usual suspects Jef., Hood, Adams ......

These forground rocks look very familiar. I think I've seen them in another comp before, but they had snow on them. maybe it was one of your posts, actually. Either way, those yellow flowers are a really nice touch here. Overall a realkly pleasing pic.
I'll be spending nearly a week out this way towards the end of September. I imagine Proxy isn't as raging anymore, but still green due to mist.
