Spend few night in Oregon last week. The fires made shooting very difficult. I was really fighting the haze in the morning. One of the shots I kind of like.

The thing that bothers me about compositions like this is that you have two dominating elements competing for attention. As much as it hurts, I would cut out the big lupine cluster at the bottom. For this to work more effectively, I would look for a creek flowing down from the peak - something to unite the two scenes. IMHO

I respect Mearle's opinion, but I don't agree. I love this - the UWA makes the flowers really speak with killer mountain and golden light in the BG.

I also respect Mearle's opinion but don't agree. The more elements of interest the better as long as some are not far more dominant than others. The image should flow cohesively - this does IMO (though just a little more room in front of the Lupine wouldn't hurt). An image without competing or contrasting elements is often simple and quickly exausted visually. This keeps me wandering through it. From Lupines to big peak, I can't ignore either and this makes for a more dynamic, enjoyable image.
