Hi

Sorry i've not been commenting or posting lately, I've been busy getting used to having a real job

Heres a shot of a brown argus (Aricia agestis) taken at first light in a prime chalk grassland spot.

Composition and background are pretty good, and the water droplets on the butterfly give a fresh, early morning feel. However, I think you might have been better advised to sacrifice shutter speed for a smaller aperture. This could have been a wonderful shot with a little more depth-of-field!

Hi Graham, nice image but I also agree entirely with Jeremy's comments about dof.

Very nice, looking at the techs you could have sacrificed the shutter speed for a touch more DoF, f8 may have done the trick and still left you with a respectable 1/400th..

Hi Graham

Very very nice - agree a little more DOF would have improved an already fine image!

Nice light, background and the water droplets really add to the image but agree about the need for extra DOF
