Green Sandpiper
Green Sandpiper (Tringa ochropus) – Essex, UK.

Canon EOS 1D MkIIN, 600/f4 + EF2x, Wimberley Head on groundpod.
Manual exposure mode f11, 1/500, iso 400, AWB (converted to daylight in processing).
RAW image processed in Capture One; sharpened in Photoshop CS2 (amount = 100 percent; radius = 0.2; threshold = 0 applied five times); full frame.

Had some nice light and cooperative birds on Saturday morning; this is one result. Hope you enjoy it.

I’ve still got one place left on the final workshop I’m running this year (30 Sept/01 Oct) if anyone is interested. So far we’ve had great success with foxes, badgers, jays, turtle doves, various waders and ducks, and hares, although the turtle doves will probably be gone by then.

Hi Phil,

The background colour really makes the bird stand out. Well taken!

Regards Chris.

Would prefer a bit more room above the stretched wing, but other than that - superb!
