I've seen it on other sites...thought it would be cool to try it here. Anybody up for showing us your favorite image you've captured and worked? These images would not be for critiques...
Posted by Marc Adamus on August 21, 2006 at 7:00 PM
Let's see your favorite image, Rick. Can I guess which one it is?
I realize some may not have a definitive favorite, but we gotta do something in these hazy dog days of August! Just post one of your favorites I guess. It would be interesting to see. Sometimes our favorite images are such for reasons beyond the realization of our viewers such as personal attachment to a place/subject or overcoming challenges to attain the capture. I know I have about four or five that could all be top choices for a variety of reasons. Crater Lake is what I'll go with now - maybe because I miss Winter so much at the moment, and snowshoeing for five days around that lake sounds like paradise.

My Photographs are my children, I have no favorites but here is one I'm proud of.

crap...Marc, did you see the one/s I posted? I just removed them...if you didn't see em...go ahead and guess, I changed my mind...so If you saw the dock one...that's not it.
Posted by Marc Adamus on August 21, 2006 at 7:39 PM
I saw the lake and mist one. My guesses would have been the one of the lenticular over Hood from Parkdale, your recent Trillium lake shoot or the dramatic skies over Zion. What happened to Doyle's post anyway....
Posted by Rick Lundh on August 21, 2006 at 7:44 PM
Ahh...you would have been correct. I changed the lake mist one, I am not really sure if that is even in my top 5. Kolob/Zion Skies was the one I put in when I changed my mind. My Lenticular over Mt Hood was great to shoot...but I can't really print it big...the mountain was a tad too soft for my taste so I feel funny about it. My latest Trillium Lake one is in my top 5 as well...then the rest is gorge stream shots.

Not sure what happened to Doyle's picture. The clouds and colors were great.

This is the top of my short list. Loved this twilight shot, and the detail, (not visible), of the seagulls on the tiny foreground rock when printed big..

That's a stunner, Ned. I've never see it until now. I love how the pastel band on the horizon compliments the lighthouse.

This is probably in my top five and has been published in two books and a calendar.

This is probably my favorite image right now, it's quite a bit different than my usual subject, I think that's why I like it so much.

I don't have a favorite (none of 'em are any good). Zack: great B&W treatment...one of my favorites of yours.

While not my personal all time favorites, this one seems to get more play than others.

Nice capture, Randy... Rick and I were just discussing whale tails.. Thanks for the comments on my image, Marc... I've always loved this capture, and constantly go back for other lighting..

This one is way up there with my all time favorites. I was with Zach in the Alvord when ths was shot. Kinda funny it's a scene that left quite an impression on both of us....and some great shots.

Both of you really nailed that one!

I don't really have a favorite per se, but recently been enjoying capturing the mood of the ocean. One of the later favorites.

I have to go with this one. It needs more work on my part, but I will probably never see anything like this ever again, nevermind, being ready and setup on such a location

Wow! What great images all! Haven't gone that far afield this summer. Been a little "flower child," working on macros of flora. Reckon I'll venture to post oneÉ
For some reason, my photo didn't post. I'll try again, here. The dainty but bright and bold yellow flowers in the garden next door (Seattle, WA, Wallingford neighborhood) caused me to run back for my camera and macro lens.
Nikon D200 and 105Dmicro on Gitzo tripod w/ Linhof ProfII w/ QR; f5 @ 1/125, +1/3EV, spot meter; ISO 400.
This one's for the mind's eye to keep for the coming darker winter days. Don't know the common name for this flower, but found it listed in my field guide as Bidens Ferulifolia. It's a strange little book (1/2 price, what can I say), but it has every darn thing in it if you can find it.
