I am planning hiking up to Chasm Lake this Saturday. Planning to leave the trailhead around 3:00am to catch sunrise. Anyone interested is welcome to join me.

Trail info: 4.2 miles one-way, elevation gain about 2300 feet. Chasm Lake is at 11,760 feet.

Ooh, that is tempting. If I didn't have a BBQ to attend down here the night before, I would join you. Have a great time, and I will look forward to seeing your photos later!

Wish I could join you. I'll be up there tomorrow morning for sunrise. I'm taking my wife up as she has seen the photos and wants to experience it for herself. Hope you have great weather and a successful shoot!

Where Rene would you like to meet ?
Or maybe , does somebody know some other nice spots where I could take some nice shots of the sunrise in the RMNP ? Thanks for your help guys.

I was hoping to get up there this year, however this weekend I am heading out east for fun and then work.

Thomas, we can meet in the parking lot at the trailhead at 3:00 am.

I am going to check the weather this evening – if it is supposed to be completely overcast at sunrise, I might not go. So far the weather looks good.

Let me know if you need directions. You can email me at Rene at RenePirolt dot com.

Hi Rene, I wouldn't go either if it will be completly overcast, but here in denver it doesn't look good at all. It is cloudy and it was raining a little bit in the morning. Just let me know if you are going , ok. I checked the weather for tomorrow and it is supposed to rain.
Let me know what you do.
