Taken near Monterey Calafornia,The Squirrels live along the beaches living amoungst the rocks,The squirrels i spent some time with were used to people who feed them even though there are signs everywhere asking you not too-tourists,Fully of energy they never stay still very long but will come right up to you so have all types of shots from 16mm up to 500mm and all types of poses,Always on the look out to see what each other is up to they stand up like meercats

I like it very much Dave, really good pose but I would personally like a little more room for him/her to look into :)

A lovely portrait, the lichen on the rock adds interest and the background is nice and smooth, but I think i'd preffer it with more space in front of the subject than behind. I understand you want to keep the whole tail in though so giving more space would make it much less of a frame filler.

Hi Dave,
I'm afraid I have to agree with the other regarding space in front of the squirrel. That said, it is still a lovely picture and a lovely alert pose.
regards Chris.

Beautiful pose. As a close up portrait it works extremely well.
