Out of all my attempts at getting a 'Living Landscape' showing these swans and the Mill I think this was my best effort and I will be interested to see if people think it overcomes most of the problems with the first one I posted ? Resizing seems to have reduced greatly the detail in the white cygnets but it is there in the original.

PS I am sure most of you know this, but just in case anyone is interested in why there are 4 normal coloured (browny) cygnets and 3 white cygnets in this family. The white cygnets, known as 'Polish' cygnets / 'Polish' swans, are quite rare in the UK but more common in other parts of Europe. They are white on hatching and at least one of their parents must be a 'Polish' swan to pass this on which is achieved by just one gene on the sex chromosomes. A male cygnet has two sex chromosomes and both must have the 'Polish' gene but a female cygnet has just one sex chromosome, therefore more female cygnets are white than male.

I much prefer this shot to your last post - a very pleasing composition which portrays the peacfulness of the scene very well. My only nit would be that it looks a little too contrasty but that could just be my moniter

Hi Terry
I agree with Graham and my only nit is that it looks a little 'contrasty'

I like it too.
It looks to me though as you've maybe just resized the original image and not sharpened it?
I could be wrong - but it looks a little soft.
I still like it though.
