yeah, that new 400D is ALMOST enough to make me wish i'd waited, but the 30D has a few more features i like. the extra 2Mp might be nice, and the automatic sensor cleaning feature would be killer, but i'm happy with my 30D for now.. :)

Yeah, new stuff. It seems that Canon had to keep up with the Jones' at the entry level end of things. Everybody else has 10 MP cams, so we have to have one too, right?

Does any of this make the 5D cheaper??? That's what I want to know.

And does anyone seem tempted by a $1100 50 mm f/1.2 L lens? My $70 f/1.8 is workin' fine

I'm tempted by that 50mm...mostly for wedding/portraiture work...I have the 85 1.2 and the 35 1.4...but that 50 is right in the sweet spot for full frame...at least in my opinion...

I think on full frame the 50mm f1.2 will be amazing for portrait work. The 70-200 f4L with IS sounds nice but for the money they want, I'll gladly keep and kiss my 600.00 70-200 f4L NON-IS every night before going to bed.

I was looking at getting a 5D this year, but I'm doing more people/glamor so I got 2 Alien Bee lights with Soft Box and other accessories along with the Vagabond power pack so I can go downtown or the beach and use a strobe for portrait work

Next year I'll get one of the first 5D mark II's that show up..... with the new anti-dust technology that the XTi 400 is showing :jump:
