I ran across this dated but interesting and informative web book on the Grand Canyon written by George Wharton James apparently in 1909. It's surely a timeless place.
I haven't read the book in your link word for word yet, but I will. It is kind of cool to read the older style of prose and draw mental images from the descriptions. Ansel Adams must not have been active yet in 1909 as the book does need some images to help my modern brain understand the words.
It is 97 years since publication of this book. We sure have changed a lot. It is also clearly apparent how much nature photogrpahy has contributed to the public's understanding and appreciation of the world around us.
