We've had two inches of rain so far here in Bella Vista and dosen't look like it's going to quite anytime soon. Keep it coming, fill the creeks and get the waterfalls started!

We've had at least an inch each day this past week, and probably more than 10-12 inches so far in August - one of the wettest August months I can ever recall. Unfortunately most of this is being sucked up by the top part of the landscape and not much is soaking in, or running off. But it has been a great boon to the mushroom industry! In fact I've seen literally hundreds of "fairy rings" - groups of mushrooms that all pop up in a circle 6-10 feet across - you can see them out in the cow pastures by just driving around a little bit - they are normally bright white right now. I used to know a guy who loved to pick and eat these cow-pie mushrooms but he was always afraid of the cops for some reason...

David & Tim,

We here in central AR haven't been quite so fortunate. Here in Conway the weather is just starting to bring a little decent moisture. Had some fairly nice rain over the end of last week and it's just starting to sprinkle a little even as I write. Went to Holla Bend last Friday and it was SLOW -- everything was just hiding from the heat. Petit Jean was about as dry as I've ever seen it when passing through on the way to HB. Hopefully your weather patterns will make it further south and bring some much needed moisture to our part of the state.
