Hi Darren. This is a very nice shot. I would probably increase the green channel (too much magenta), but this is technically very good. The clouds definitely add a lot. Do you have a link with more pictures from your trip? 650 miles of offroading sounds awesome!

Great shot! Do you have more on the way? (please?).

I've wanted to get to the maze forever. You've got to have heart to even plan and make it. Nice work, and please show us more!

Cool shot. The Maze is certainly an amazing place. I did a bikepacking trip through the Maze about 12 years ago and came back with my jeep the following year. Not sure that it's still the most remote place in the lower 48, as it's become more popular recently. I'd guess that Dark Canyon in Utah is one of the most remote places in the lower 48 in terms of visitors, though I'm sure Wyoming and Montana have some pretty remote spots as well. But the starkness of the Maze and the solitude deep inside its canyons can make it feel as remote as any place in the U.S.

I don't have much in the way of pictures from the Maze, as I was new to photography then. But here's a link to one shot http://coloradopics.com/details.php?gid=55&sgid=&pid=3021

I don't have many good pics, but I've got pics. Like Grant, this was pretty much pre-photography. Too bad I didn't really know what I was doing, because I could have come back with some great shots, and I have no idea when I can do a trip like this again. Anyway, HERE'S a link. Sorry if it takes a while to open. This was from back when my web site's slideshows were run from a Java applet.

Darren,
Another way to get into the Maze (Doll House area) is to canoe down the Green River to the Confluence and then hike in (UP) from there. Next time I canoe the Green I plan to tack on a few days for that hike.

That's a heckuva view! We've only visited Canyonlands once, and briefly at that. We were on our way home from California in mid-summer and I think it was about 110 degrees in the Park; I didn't feel too bad that we only had 1/2 a day...

Definitely looking forward to making a real visit very soon, probably this fall or winter.
