Defensive Grebe
Going thru some files yesterday i found a series of images taken a couple of months ago when working with a pair of mating Grebes,This image shows what happens when a black kite flies over the nest,The grebe made itself as big as possible until the danger was over

Hi Dave,

A great image of some interesting behaviour. The reflection makes the image more special and emphasises the low viewpoint. Didn't they mind that you were in the water with them?

Regards Chris.

Never seen that before Dave. Photography does seem to have a habit of turning up things like this. Have observed more this way than ever when I did nothing but birding.
Nice one.

What a funny pose, the birds got her hands on hips for sure. I guess the idea is to make itself appear as big as poss.
