The download for CS2 v. 9.0.2 is now available at Adobe.

I installed it yesterday. I understand the update is available for both the Windows and the Mac versions. I haven't heard when this patch will be released for the Linux version. Oh wait...

Have any of the performance problems under Windows been resolved with this release ?
I understand a dual-core processor and 2 gig ram is the minimal hardware requirement when working with large images.

Define "large". You can work with pretty much any size image in far less than a dual-core system with 2GB of RAM, if you're willing to wait a bit.
I only have a 1.8GHz P4 with 512MB, and provided I'm willing to go out for coffee when compositing HDR or stitched images, I'm good to go. Most operations with 12.2MP files aren't a problem at all.
