Hi, I'm visiting the NE Forum from the PNW Forum. I was wondering if anyone here has ventured up to Newfoundland from your area, and if you have, do you have any suggestions for places to visit and photograph? This is my first visit to the island. My wife is from there and we are visiting her relatives in St. Johns and St. Anthony. We'll be on the island for two weeks.

Ryan: Several years ago we took a trip from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland. We took the ferry into Port aux Basques. From memory I can remember Gros Morne National Park and taking a boat ride on the deepest lake through fiords (sp) where waterfalls were all around and of course the coastline. There were walking paths through the fields of forest undergrowth which led to a waterfall. We went in the fall and saw very few animals and very little color, since most of the trees are evergreen. I believe the St. John's side has much more to photograph.

Howdy Ryan, are you back in Oregon yet? Massachusetts is so so lovely......

I remember reading in a Canadian photographer's book that there were red sandstone cliffs by the sea in Newfoundland, I trust you've investigated this and will post shots of dawn there....
