We went up to the Glacier Gorge area this Saturday in hopes for some good sunrise shots. We got a little sun. Unfortunatley well past sunrise. After some breakfast and on our way home the church seemed to be our best shot of the day.

James,
Thanks for posting. It has been quite cloudy the last couple of weekends, but when the sun does poke through there have been some pretty dramatic clouds.
I have the feeling of being cut off at the top & bottom of this one, but especially with the tree on the top. Normaly you see this chapel photographed with Mt. Meeker in the background, but it's probably hard to do that and also get the reflection.

Tony, thanks for your comments. I reworked the shot closer to the original, not cropping out some of the tree. Some of my close critics feel it is too much blue sky. What really captivated me about this shot was the very slight shimery reflection that was going on.

Hey, you stole my tripod holes! I took this shot many years ago, though I like your shot better.
I like your 2nd post better. I think this could also work if you cropped bot the left and right sides and made it almost a vertical pano.

That's lovely! I have only photographed St. Malo in the winter with snow. I love the reflection. And I am one of those who actually likes to see blue sky in the photo. Sure, some clouds are nice if they are available, but the "Colorado blue sky" that we so often have available to us is great, too. Go with the full frame, or Grant's suggestion of a tall pano.
