Hi,

One for those who like their birds tight in the frame, working on setting up a new feeding station and this is one of the early visitors, wouldn't use my carefully placed artistic perches and posed a little too close.... this is full frame width, with just a slight crop top and bottom to A4 format....

All the best

Hi Phil,

Maybe a little too tight in the frame for me but a beauty none the less! Its certainly a nice alert pose!

Regards chris.

I actually like tight shots and like this very much Phil, lots of detail and I also like the look over the 'shoulder' pose  I would personally clone out that little strand coming out from his chest as it distracts me just a little :)

Before reading the other comments, I didn't notice the blurred out branch in the background or the strand from the bird's chest, my eye was drawn straight to the bird, first to it's face and then gradually worked my way down the body.

I think it's a fantastic shot, I quite like tight shots anyway and am still learning about NOT making them too tight myself.

I don't feel distracted by anything in this shot, I love it as it is.

Works for me Phil,

Nice 'over the shoulder' look, and packed with detail. I agree the oof twig is a slight distraction {although my first impression was the same as Alison}. Two seconds in PS would round it off to perfection though.
