Are there any future plans to revise or enhance the file dimensions limits for uploads to support panoramic images?
I'd like to be able to share some panoramics (some more extreme than others) and even add them to my portfolio. At the moment the current dimensions would make the images too difficult to view.
I thought I once saw a statement about a slightly different rule for panoramic images, but I can't find it now. Jim E would know, or make a rule if there isn't one.

Pete - the rule used to be 640 pixels for regular and 720 for panos. Now it's 720 for everything unless something's changed very recently.

I have the same frustration with not being able to display panoramas at a decent resolution, Jim. If the pano is a long one, the 720 pxl limit results in a vertical scale that is smaller than a thumbnail which pretty much renders the image worthless because the most important feature of most panoramas is the expansiveness and the details. I have literally hundreds of panoramas and I rarely post them here because I have to go through the hassel of posting them on another site like photobucket or Digital Image Cafe that will take the large files and then creating a link in the comments so that people can go there if they want and even then I think many people don't choose to follow the link because the small version doesn't impress them enough to warrant it. Oh well...maybe some day...but I doubt it will be soon
I also take a lot of panos that I cannot post , for all the above reasons. I'd love a pano category with different rules, to allow proper presentation - or a way to post them well in the present categories.
