Anticipating an overnight into Coyote Gulch in the Escalante area during peak fall colors which I think will be late Sept or early Oct. Will probably camp for one night around Jacob Hamblin arch. Supposed to be marvelous photo ops in that canyon at that time.
Would love to have some company in case anyone is intested in joining in.
You'll be about a month early for peak fall colors down in the canyon. I'll be out there sometime during the first week in Nov. Drop me an email and maybe we can hook up.
I was just going to echo Tony's comments. I as well might be doing an overnighter in Coyote Gulch in early november. I hiked the Subway last november with Tony and i can attest that you'll have a marvelous time if you join him. He knows the area quite well, in fact i may hike it with him as well if he has some openings.

Jim – I shot you an email. Not sure if you are still going…
Tony – thanks for clarifying. Luckily, I am going to be down there during the first week of Nov. for a hike into the Subway and a visit to the Wave. I guess I can add Coyote Gulch to my list.

All,
I am fairly flexible on dates to go to Coyote. I have already called the BLM office in Escalante and the ranger said peak will be about mid September (in fact I think she said September 17 to be precise). I then called Drew at the Desert Adventure Store in Esaclante and he said peak would be in mid-October. Now I am hearing the first week in Nov.
I hiked the Subway last Nov 8th. and I missed peak by about a week. So, early late Oct or early Nov sounds more right. I think the Subway is about 5400 in elevation and Coyote is lower around 4000 ft.
Bottom line, I can go most anytime except Oct 11-18.
