I haven't been posting for a while as my camera (20D) died on me a month ago. Still no news from the service-center, so now I finally bought a 30D (should have bought Nikon just to show my dismay with Canon-service)
This is from my first outing with the 30D - a mother tern was feeding one of her young ones. Weather was very cloudy and dark, so I had trouble stopping the action, and the series appear a bit soft.
30D + 500/4 + tc1.4; iso400, 1/320 f5.6.

Superb composition Helge, I could have told you you should have brought Nikon , no I reckon it's swings and roundabouts (there that will confuse you), to make it more clear its half a dozen of one and six of the other.
You have captured a very nice moment in time Helge and you did well with the light constraints. Hope your 20D comes back soon :)

Hi Helge
a great image and I like the interaction between the two Birds. One thing about poor lighting is you can get good detail in the plumage of White Birds.

Nikon service is superb...so much better than Canon . Nice image Helge, i do miss a tiny bit of sharpness.

Hi Helge
Love the action and composition - as Dave said if only you had enjoyed a little better light!

nice moment captured. I'd have used a flash with better beamer to get some catchlight into those eyes. Can make a world of difference in the shot!

Tricky conditions, but a fine result!
